7th & 8th Grade Band students performing at Oct 14 football game

  • 1.  Students will need to provide their own drink at the pre-performance meal in the FMS cafeteria.
  • 2.  We need plenty of chaperones to help throughout the evening (see below for specifics).
  • 3.  No additional snacks/drinks will be allowed in the stands once we begin performing.  Students will be provided water during the performance.

Here's the schedule for the day:

  • 3:00 PM - Students dismissed from school.  If needed, students may wait in the band hall until the meal.
  • 4:30 PM - Students meet in the FMS cafeteria wearing their 2008-2009 FMS band t-shirt, jeans/shorts, and tennis shoes.
  • 4:45 PM - FBPO will serve a meal to band members.  ***Each student will need to bring his/her own drink for this meal.
  • 5:15 PM - Once everyone is done eating, the students will make their way to the band hall to get their instruments.  Once everyone is ready, we will walk as a group to MISD stadium.  The band will sit on the south end of the home side stands.
  • 6:00 PM - FMS band will begin performing.  The plan is to play for the 2nd half of the "B" game and the first half of the "A" game.  The FBPO will provide water for the students to drink during the performance.
  • 7:45 PM - End of first half of "A" game.  All students return to FMS.  Students need to be picked up at the FMS Band Hall.

You are also encouraged to visit the FBPO-sponsored concession stand (drinks, food, etc) while you are there.  However, remember that band members WILL NOT be allowed to eat any food or drink anything other than the water provided by the FBPO during the performance, as it will potentially damage their instruments.
